Body Psychotherapy with Clare Osbond

I am a body psychotherapist with an embodied relational approach. My practice is in South Devon.

What is a body psychotherapist? You may have an intuitive sense that you would like to work with the body, as well as the mind. And you may be wondering what to expect from body psychotherapy. My approach is body-centred - so I include the body ( - that is your body) but the session doesn't necessarily look any different from any other psychotherapy or counselling session. We sit - we talk - we simply explore being together with each other. And we can come to our feet and move if that feels right.

A body-centred approach is particularly beneficial if you have experienced trauma, whether it be early developmental trauma or a one-off traumatic event. Here we will work with processing the trauma but only if and when that feels right. I also help you to regulate your nervous system and be more OK with yourself.

Here are some specific ways in which I work, but really these are more influences to my work. Principally I work with you - with what you bring and what is present in the moment.

I have recently relocated my practice from Brighton to Ashburton (South Devon) where I now offer face-to-face and online sessions
